I am going on the ship today! I have been trying to write more to post, but after I left Buenos Aires, there are funky electrical plugs. The Hilton was standard Euro. No wonder the books said to buy a plug here! Saw tons in BA, but none where I needed it: Ushuaia (pronounced uuu-shwai-uh).
We got our nametags and some info last night on what we are doing today. I stole a glimpse at the cabin assignments and my roommate is named Christine. I have seen a few younger chics (including one that was on my flight) but not sure yet. The funny part is that myt cruise was bought out to at least one third of an Asian tour group. Chances of American english speaking dude just plummeted! I signed up for a 4hr tour of the national park-- glaciers and the end of the PanAmerican highway. EVERYTHING ends here so why are they making a big deal of that part I will not know. Last night it was light for all but 2 hrs near 3am--- and even then it was only twilight. Very cool!
I have 2 layers on, my big Yellow Quark Parka, and appropriate coordinating hat (thank you Lori for helping me with that decision- swear it was crippling me for some reason). Its 43 F and misting. This weather is why I left Kentucky, Mom. I am having a big life affirmation moment here.
Time to take my protein bar and 1.5L Coke Zero on the road. Will be a bit until next post. I am keeping a day by day. If I can post from the ship those entries, I will. If not, then I will uplaod with pìcs when I get home. Bon Voyage!

Can't wait to see the pix and hear about the freezing weather.
ReplyDeleteYou're missing one of the two good weeks in Dallas (at least by my and J's estimation): sunny, dry and cool.
Love the blog --- you sound like you are right here with me! Stay warm and safe --- anxious to hear what you and the Russians have for Thanksgiving dinner! Stay away from the vodka --- it can hit you hard!
